Why I’m Running

I grew up in a working-class family in Scarborough, helping run one of Toronto’s first video stores in the 1980s. We worked hard, moved often, and faced real financial uncertainty. Those years taught me responsibility, resilience, and what it means to put obligations before yourself.

I moved out at 18, put myself through firefighting college and fire protection engineering, and built a 26-year career at General Motors as an industrial fire and security officer. Safety, accountability, and systems that work under pressure are not theories to me. They are my job.

WHERE I STAND

Housing

I don't think more for-profit housing is a priority for residents who live in Scugog.. I've knocked on over 3000 doors and that has come up less than 5 times.

Taxes & Spending

We need to do a much better job with the record amount of tax revenue the Township already collects. We need to use all the tools within the Municipal Act to give residents a break and minimize future tax increases to what residents can actually afford.

Growth & Development

We've seen numerous inappropriate developments proposed over the past 2 years that don't match the character, scale and scope of our small Township. We need to set clear expectations for developers through our Official Plan Review. I'm committed to creating a transparent planning process that works with local residents, rather than against them. It will be transparent, engaging and will build roads and infrastructure that aligns with any growth.

Local Business

I have and will continue to showcase local businesses all across Scugog. I will continue to support local businesses, keeping business areas clean and maintained.

Parks, Recreation & Community Spaces

The Fairgrounds will become a Premier park starting in 2027 with trees and accessible walkways. We will invest in our facilities again and lobby and invest to create new facilities. We can't continue to fall further behind while the municipalities around us go further ahead.

Transparency & Accountability

We need to build trust back with the community. We need to communicate and be accountable as community leaders.
