MEET THE CANDIDATE
Why I’m Running
I am a life long resident of Scugog Township and a member of a multi generational farm family.
I am running for Regional Council because I care deeply about the future of Scugog and want to be a strong, respected voice for our community at both the Township and Regional tables.
Generations of families, including my own, have helped build Scugog into the community it is today, and I want to ensure it remains a great place to live, work, have a business and raise a family.
I bring to the table experience as chair of land division, minor variance and heritage committees.

MY PRIORITIES
The Issues That Matter Most
WHERE I STAND
Housing
Durham Region the Province and the Federal Government need to address housing. Scugog itself is very limited in ways to help with housing outside of appropriate zoning provisions.
Taxes & Spending
I don't believe promising zero tax increases is responsible. I would advocate keeping taxation tied to inflation. Budgets and spending should be carefully prioritized .
Growth & Development
Responsible planning for rural communities is imperative. Sprawl is not the answer to provide growth. We need to get the projects that have been approved built and only then step back and have a look at next steps.
Local Business
Listen to the BIA and work with the North Durham Chamber to achieve common goals.
Parks, Recreation & Community Spaces
I believe our parks and green spaces provide economic and recreational value to our communities. These areas provide space for markets, fairs or just plain old relaxation and piece of mind.
Transparency & Accountability
The public should not have to look for information. Lets keep the public informed and engaged.

When this election is over or my term is over I will still be here. This has been my families home for 135 years. I intend for my family to stay in Scugog. Decisions I make will have to be lived with for many future generations including my own families.
